Set of Bisque porcelain figurines with a colonial look.
Hand painted in muted color costumes of green, brown, yellow, pink, and lavender.
Mat gold trim on manβs cuffs and ladyβs scooped neckline.
Made as courtship couple in Occupied Japan.
This places the time period between 1945 and 1952 and was probably from the earlier occupied years.
Figures measure 6β tall on a 2β base.
Female figure has a bubble defect on nose, that probably happened during firing and went unnoticed due to the small size giving it an appearance of a pug nose.
Wonderful for that Rustic or Early American style home.
Very good coloring and in excellent, as new condition.
Rarely handled, never damaged, well preserved examples of this post ww2 period.
